Diver Jennifer Abel Wins Bronze for Canada

LONDON, United Kingdom (defend.ht) - 20 year old Canadian diver of Haitian descent, Jennifer Abel, won Canada's first medal of the Olympics, a bronze medal in team three meter synchronized diving.

Synchronized 3m Springboard is an aquatic event at the Olympics where two divers dive from a 3 meter high diving platform synchronizing their dives into the water.

Jennifer Abel was teamed with Emilie Heyman who won a silver medal for Canada in 2008, a bronze in 2004 and another silver in 2000.

Abel was not so experience. She is relatively a newcomer. Her first time in the Olympics was in Beijing 2008 when she was 16.

China won the gold medal in 2012 and the United States won the silver medal.
